In May 2014 Dr Rod found a small window of time between delivering the babies of Brisbane and corralling his own five children, to fulfil a life long dream to perform in public with a choir! He has always loved to sing – in the car, in the shower, at Christmas etc and finally decided to pursue his passion by starting singing lessons. With the encouragement of his Vocal coach he joined the Queensland Festival Chorus. His first public gig was at QPAC for the Queensland Pops Orchestra’s 30th Anniversary concert on 17th May 2014. And not forgetting his day job he managed to pop back to perform surgery at the Mater theatre between the matinee and the evening performances at QPAC! His dream was short lived when life got too hectic but he hopes to rekindle it one day in the future!
